Very NFRC: Anyone out there on LinkedIN? Thoughts, tips, advice?

Okay, so my friend sent me an invite to LinkedIN (it's like Facebook or MySpace...except for networking professionals).

Anywho...now I'm wondering...who's using it? Is anyone here on it? Do you have any experience with it?

I'd love to hear your thoughts, comments, etc. since I'm new and I'm trying to figure this thing out. I set up an account months ago and now I'm putting some momentum behind it.

Here's a bit more about it:

I'm on it... it was a great way to reconnect with previous coworkers.

We have an alumni group of employees from a company that was bought out -- there are well over 5K of us listed there and it has been great to reconnect. Also, living in a virtual small town "Silicon Valley" often it ends up being an everyone knows everybody -- or nearly so environment. Using LinkedIn if you want to target a company for a job you will likely find someone you know - who knows someone already working there. Ditto for if you are looking to hire someone -- you'll often find someone who you know that may have worked with them already. Also, you can list as much or as little to be seen by the public that you want. For example you may only want folks you know to see your information. Play around with it and decide for your self. Have fun! smileys/smile.gif
