A German inspired tradition from DH's family. We make a traditional turkey or chicken noodle soup and serve over a mound of mashed potatoes. Sometimes my bowl has mostly potatoes and sometimes just a small mound. Colleen
Used GailNJ's Penne with Garlic Sauce and added, chopped zucchini, cauliflower, ham, and a bit of
stilton cheese. Oh my -- delish! A great use for leftover ham. I also used less penne to have a greater ratio of sauce to pasta and because I added ham and veggies.
Thank you, Gail, for this yummy sauce that's so easy to play with.
Thanks Cheez! Made this last night-was great! We usually have "gravy bread"
(just the softest white bread with hot gravy and turkey)
but I was intrigued and lazy as I was decorating for Christmas. So I layered as you described, except I put the mushy part of the stuffing on top in tablespoon drops.
It crisped up and added a "crouton" crunch effect to the top.
So good--thanks for sharing!
