Wanna talk left overs? Here's what I'm doing.

Turkey noodle soup OVER mashed potatoes

A German inspired tradition from DH's family. We make a traditional turkey or chicken noodle soup and serve over a mound of mashed potatoes. Sometimes my bowl has mostly potatoes and sometimes just a small mound. Colleen

Thanks Cheez! Made this last night-was great! We usually have "gravy bread"

(just the softest white bread with hot gravy and turkey)
but I was intrigued and lazy as I was decorating for Christmas. So I layered as you described, except I put the mushy part of the stuffing on top in tablespoon drops.
It crisped up and added a "crouton" crunch effect to the top.
So good--thanks for sharing!

Pure comfort food to us. Worth making the components just to do this smileys/smile.gif glad you enjoyed!

wow, I think if you look up comfort food you will see that picture. my cousin always put his corn

in his potatoes, then doused with gravy. Mom made corn at every family gathering just for him. I must ask his wife if he still does that!

Dh is making turkey enchiladas as we speak. already had turkey soup with noodles and plenty of

broth in the freezer.

turkey shepard's pie

That will be the end of the gravy and mashed potatoes. If it's not the end of the turkey the remainder goes in the freezer.

BTW, it's the perfect dish to take to someone (along with cranberry sauce).

Especially if they have kids or need something not too spicy.
