forgotten. She was no help (although she did try). When I got home, I realized I had used all my carrots. Their being so essential to a bolognese, I scrapped that idea. Next best thing to Marcella......Deb in Michigan. I checked her recipe for that luscious pasta she had posted. So I took ideas from it and made myself a bowl of creamy pasta sauce and enjoyed it. I had 35% cream to use up anyway but was not going to open a whole new box of cream cheese just for me.

So that got me to thinking of the first real pasta recipe I ever made. The reminder was the creamy sauce, loaded with parmesan and garlic. I still make, still love it, and it's particularly top-of-mind when I am feeling the need for vegetables. I love how recipes lead us down a path, regardless of available ingredients, to something else that turns out to be a delight.
