trick-or-treating compared to other years.
A ann Well-known member Oct 31, 2008 #3 I couldn't believe how slow it was. I only purchased $12 of pb cups and an assortment bag.. We doled out 3 pcs each because it was so slow. We should've gave handfuls!

D deb-in-mi Well-known member Nov 1, 2008 #6 Yes - slower. Only about 120 (typically at least another 30 or 40)
M marilynfl Moderator Nov 1, 2008 #8 Probably 20 at most. I asked some of the parents and they said most of the houses were dark.
M Marg CDN Well-known member Nov 1, 2008 #9 I felt so guilty this year as we had to go to a wedding party. The only Hallowe'en we've missed in 32 years. I tried to get the neighbours to give out what I'd bought but they had departed. I think kids should be able to hang on to some old traditions. There are so few left.

A angak Well-known member Nov 1, 2008 #11 just a little slower, although it was just 28 degrees . brrrr.
D desertjean Well-known member Nov 1, 2008 #12 Just one little trick or treater. I so look forward to seeing the kids, but this year we had only one child show up. Not even the immediate neighbors kids/grandkids.

L luisa_calif Well-known member Nov 1, 2008 #15 NONE-we didn't get home until 7:30, dark by then & we left the lights off as no little ones go out
L lisainla Well-known member Nov 1, 2008 #16 We had none - I suspect a lot of parties the reason. We went out with some friends and their kids, and there were hardly any kids out in the neighborhoods. Our local village/downtown merchants hosted a trick-or-treat event, and it was well attended.

P patbastrop Well-known member Nov 1, 2008 #18 We live pretty far out in the country, so no trick or treaters. But our little town closed up Main Street and had a huge party for the kids. Austin, 6th Street was a drunken brawl, but lil'ole Bastrop was rocking for the kidlings. It was great!
