What are some of your plans for Father's Day? Happy day to all the fathers in the bunch, as

Aw, thanks. smileys/smile.gif We tend to stick to a ten-block radius so we can get back for naps! (Sorry, so NFRC.)

The cake was amazing. The syrup was absorbed making the cake very moist. It was easy

to make also. And, I think the recipe could easily be halved to make a six inch cake. The whipped cream and raspberries were a perfect accompaniment.

Our first date was somewhat unusual, in that it was when we graduated from two different...

...high schools in San Diego. We met when we both had jobs at a burger joint after school. I worked up the courage to ask her to Grad Night at Disneyland, and she said yes.

It was a formal affair back then, and the Park was filled with graduating seniors from 9 pm to 6 am. We spent the whole night in Disneyland together, listening to prominent bands of the era, and riding the rides. It was so fun!

Last Wednesday night, my wife and I chaperoned Grad Night for my eldest son and his graduating class. He started a Disney Club at his school here in Phoenix and organized their first Grad Night trip. It was 35 years nearly to-the-day of when we first attended Grad Night! How about that for a coincidence?

Very fun time!

Michael

I don't think a bundt pan would work because you have to run a knife around the cake to get it out

of the pan. A regular cake pan would work though. Be sure to line the bottom with parchment paper.

Thanks, cheezz; I wish. smileys/wink.gif That would be at least 2 loooooong plane rides.

I'm lobbying for the Bahamas--only 90 minutes from JFK! smileys/wink.gif (That's not going to happen, either. It's looking more like "picnic in the park"-style vacation.) smileys/wink.gif
