What are your favorite salad vinaigrettes? The best ones I ever had were in Paris. Nothing fancy,

I was wrong. It's Basilippo. My shop knows I love it so I don't have to remember the

name. It's from Sevilla (as my Spanish friend says...Seveeja) and very fruity. I managed to get some on sale since it will be stale-dated shortly. No matter to me, that just makes it affordable and it's still yummy.

I like to throw in a few pecan halves... when emulsified, it makes a thicker dressing

better to coat and hold onto the salad leaves smileys/smile.gif

GP won in a taste test - I think it was the LA Times, recently, mostly because of freshness

as I remember it. I'm not a big mustard person, so GP cuts the mustard for me.....

sorry, I couldn't not do it....

or maybe I read the taste test in CI? I can't access it on their website.

Oops. Looks like Food & Wine picked it as one of their favorite mustards of any type as well:

I like it also, and use it often.

I'm going to experiment with a few different brands here and there, and see how they compare.

I'm including a link so you can read the entire article, and here's an excerpt:

Can Grey Poupon, made by Nabisco, compete with made-in-France Dijon?

....Now to answer our initial question about whether real Dijon mustard -- the stuff that is made in France -- is better than American products such as Nabisco's Grey Poupon. The answer is an unequivocal no. After tallying our results, we found that we could recommend five brands, and only two of them, Roland Extra Strong and Delouis Fils, were French. The other three--Grey Poupon (maybe the guys in the limos in the Grey Poupon ads know something after all), French's Napa Valley Style Dijon, and Barhyte--were American-made. Of the four brands that we could not recommend, two were French and two were American..."
