What do you make 4 gifting diabetics or "healthy" food eaters on ur list? Can we start a thread?

If you're not opposed to pre-made items, a good present might

be an Italian Dinner basket filled with whole wheat pasta (pasta, I've heard, is a carbohydrate that's absorbed relatively slowly into the blood system and this is good for people with diabetes, and whole wheat makes it even better with the fiber in there); a bottle of dry red wine; a half-pound of Italian roast coffee; homemade pasta sauce; a nice chunk of cheese; and a small package of dark chocolate candies.

I know I'd like to get that!

my DH is diabetic and is not afraid of Splenda---uses it daily. SF syrups and good SF chocolate

from a local chocolatier are always in his package for Christmas. Just a few pieces of the chocolate, and he knows how to portion them out for himself, but it's a special holiday treat. whole wheat pastas are another good idea. we try to limit carbs, and use whole wheat when we have pasta. lots of fun choices these days. nuts as mentioned are a good choice. cheeses and sausages. pickled veggies. fruit butters that are lower in sugar than jams, usually.

Just made 2 of these yesterday (smaller versions) for 2 people that i had not

crossed off my list yet. They make a nice gift, and it's fun to shop for the items. 'Love baskets.
