What do you prefer point cut or flat cut corned beef.

That's fine - I'm making it tonight instead. Thanks!

I see Epi still has many bugs within the search function!

I AGREE MOYN!

MY GROCERY STORE, DOMINICKS, CARRIES ITS OWN BRAND OF POINT CUT CORNED BEEF. I THINK IT'S DELICIOUS!!

I was ina deli once and almost smacked the couple sitting behind me

They were tormenting the poor waiter, continually asking which was more low-fat - corned beef or pastrami? Because they didn't want anything with too much fat.

I almost turned around and said "Get the turkey!"

Only in L.A.!

Moyn, I gout ours from Costco and wasn't pleased with the texture, either.

Next year, I'm going to do my own, if I remember to start it in time!

We went to a neighbors for a huge St. Patty's party...(m)

She served her corned beef sandwiches on rye with all of the dressings...Very fun party.

I called her over the weekend, because I was impressed about the flavors as well as how thin the slices were...

She has been doing this party for over 5 years. She said that when she initially consulted the butcher, 5 yrs ago, he told her that if she purchased the meat with them, he would slice it.

I was amazed!!! Apparently, she did all the cooking (as you know, takes time...) and then showed up in the wee hours on Fri am to have them slice it.. I would never have thought to even ask!!!! She said they did a whole production of cleaning, both before and after..

I was fascinated about this....
Regards,
Barb

Barb, did the butcher slice it while it was raw or while it was cooked?

Never heard of a butcher doing this, either. Nice.
