Does it mean table salt? I’m confused, and I have several kinds of salt, but this one threw me. It’s a pie crust calling for
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt fine
Thanks for this. Didn't know. I tend to use kosher salt for everything but I always use less than the recipe says.Actually, Diamond Crystal is making a fine kosher salt. Not sure how long they have been making it but I saw it in a restaurant supply a while back. I wondered why they made it but maybe it would be better for baking some things like pie crust where it doesn't really have a chance to dissolve and distribute throughout the product as well. I hadn't really given it much thought because I just use kosher salt in everything and have never really thought it could be an issue when baking. Might have to go back and buy some now to see if it makes a difference in baked goods.
