What to bring to a 5:00 potluck dinner? Movie night. I asked the hostess

Maybe reqyest to a couple ppl you need protein dishes, a couple you need desserts, etc. Maybe? Or

too rude? I've been to some where most of them are starchy - pasta, rice, mac and cheese, etc.

 
Interesting! We went Christmas-light peeping one year and one house on a

cul-de-sac and there were dozens of neighbors watching "A Charlie Brown Christmas" projected on their garage door (I'm assuming it was a DVD) as a steady stream of cars drove by.

They all had cocoa and were barbecuing in the driveway. Looked fun, but cold. It was in December. In Syracuse. lol
