What's a chef to do?

thanks for the info. now I know what the secret ingredient is in the google brownies

Ha! Never had the brownies, but they had me at the hot tortillas coming out on a conveyor.

Also, the steak/seafood (always pre-cooked on outdoor charcoal/wood grills) and their sauces. Good food, but they did like their parties... smileys/smile.gif

Irene Chalmers has written a book called Food Jobs and a new one about to come out

But there are all sorts of things. There are so many behind the scenes things that you just don't really think about. Companies that develop products for restaurants. Teach servers and kitchen staff. Plan meals for senior citizen residences. Host wine tastings, cooking classes etc. in senior citizen residences. When you go to a American Culinary Federation meeting and start meeting all the people and seeing what they do, your mind starts to go crazy. Food distributors hire chefs to prepare the products in their in-house kitchens to show customers how to use them.

More ideas like pop ups

Pop up dinners are big here - they get the kitchen at the Nashville Farmers Market, restaurants that are breakfast and lunch only or closed on the weekends, event spaces for Sunday brunch.

Teaching - in individual homes, farmers markets, and other spaces.
