What's the oddest/silliest thing someone in the food service has ever said to you? I'll start...

Here's a funny story! I was at an out of town conference with a bunch of colleagues....

There were about 10 of us, and we went to a breakfast diner, that looked very promising. We were sitting at a long counter, all in a row. Waitress was really friendly, and easy to talk to.

We all ordered omelets, each person ordering their own fillings: bacon, spinach, sausage, mushrooms, cheeses, etc.

The waitress came out with the dishes one at a time, so she came out with the first omelet, and placed it in front of one of our colleagues, let's name her H. H squirted ketchup all over the omelet, and we encouraged her to start ahead of us, since we were in a rush to get back to the conference.

She took a bite, and realized it was not the ham and chesse that she ordered, even though the waitress said it was ham and cheese. It was really sausage and cheese, which belonged to B. B said he didn't mind, so H passed it over to him.

Waitress brings another omelet out, and says THIS one is definitely ham and cheese. H again squirts ketchup all over, takes a bite, and finds mushrooms and spinach, which belonged to C.

This went on for at least 5 OMELETS, all squirted with ketchup by H! It was hilarious! Good thing we were all so easy going!

By the time the last one came out, it was mine, and the order was still wrong, but I was the only one without breakfast. Waitress begged me to take it, cause she couldn't bear to send it back to the kitchen.

I can't remember how much we tipped her, if any, but she really didn't deserve any that day!

And the time I asked a sandwhich maker was in a "9-grain" bun and

she said "Oh, it's just whole wheat"!!
