What's wrong with people?! I just went back to the store where I bought an

Go back another time smileys/wink.gif

We don't go often because ours is (are) far away, but Culver's is one of my "sweet" spots. Don't let bad employees and horrible management keep you from one of the true joys of ice cream! Colleen

(in my iPhone - our favorites on the July "Flavor-of-the-Day" calendars for all 5 stores w/in 20 miles)

ps - Get extra Turtle Cheesecake (really any of their cheesecake ice cream blends) and the Lemon Ice/Coolers (great frozen drink base). Store them in plastic zip bags in the freezer and warm to eat by mashing the bag with your hands smileys/wink.gif

Oh, yeah! We love Culver's

Our pre-Memorial Day yearly 3-day vacation revolves around walking the 2-1/2 miles round trip to Culver's. We do other things during the day, sure, but the daily Culver's walk is our favorite part of each day! Colleen

ps - And that walk usually includes a few Cosmos and appetizers at Happy Hour on the way back. smileys/bigsmile.gif

Oh I have one for you from today: Guess who doesn't take their OWN gift cards? Safeway that's who.

Friend gave me some gift cards for Safeway so I could get groceries because they are the only one that delivers. However, they don't accept them for use with their online delivery service.

Oh and I called the "Safeway offers its customers with disabilities an equal opportunity to use Safeway's services" number and yeah...no. And when I asked if I could have someone take them to the store so I could exchange it for something I could use...yeah, no. $%^&!

Tomorrow I call the TV consumer guy, because seriously, what company doesn't take it's own gift card?

Sometimes I wonder what the criteria are for working in upper management -

because having common sense certainly does not appear to be a requirement in more and more corporations.

It's the "clueless" part that gets me. Geesh, they are paid to do a job! You should've gone to

this little stand in Geneva. They have wine-flavored ice cream, Merlot, I think; you may have learned that that part of the state is known for its wine.

It was really good last time I was there, although you had to show your id!

Thanks for the responses. I guess it's pretty common these days. Happens to me about 2-3x a week!

Customer service is almost a thing of the past. I find Yelping about it helps smileys/smile.gif

Recent article in our local paper about on line reviews and how they are usually

quite effective for restaurants as enough bad reviews can lower their revenue substantially. Flipside is many, I think it was about 30%, are bogus with reviewer never having been to the restaurant. As though restauranteers don't have enough to worry about.

It does even out, though. You have all your friends and family posting raves

And it offsets the others (so an article I read said). Here in L.A., many people offer a discount for goods or services if you post a review about them. They don't know what you are going to post when they offer the discount. It does show they value reviews though. I've been offered free meals when I posted a bad review and they wanted a second chance. Several companies have written to thank me for constructive input when they really want to improve their business.

Good point about evening out. We had contractors here offer a discount for a review on Angie's List

It was offered up front and made clear the review was to be our opinion of services rendered. Now whether it was really a discount is anyone's guess. In both cases, the services were excellent.
