Growing up, we had milk near paydays and water otherwise. Now I prefer water, but think

they've changed the taste over the years. It seems sweeter, even with water. I add "Tennessee Sunshine" hot sauce to mine.

And have to have it with saltine crackers.

 
Anyone else notice it (or at least Tomato Bisque) curdles when milk is added? I read someplace that

it's a reaction with the acidity of the tomatoes or something like that.

 
As a kid, it was always milk in canned soup, except chicken noodle. Not so in my husband's house.

Now that he is the only one who uses canned soups, I balk at the site of water mixed in. He's learning though. Another 35 years or so.....

 
add a dollop of lite sour cream. you'll be happy.

or I make it with a can of Italian styly stewed tomatoes and use my immersion blender. mmmmmm.

 
Thanks Pat - it's officially bronchitis but I swear I had a 2-month flu before it landed in

my chest. I'll feel better soon.

 
I may be in the minority, but I love Cream of Mushroom soup....

especially when it slides out of the can in the exact same shape, right down to the circular indentations.
