When I first started on Gail's, I didn't even really understand what the internet was.

I remember asking when I was pregnant with my youngest about eating sushi. I received advice from you all. I just registered my youngest for high school today. Amazing how time flies when you are having fun!

I was a new bride when I first found this site. The man's gone but you are all still here!

1995: my second year with LM. I asked my first question about carrot cake that used mayo

(instead of oil and eggs). It was my favorite recipe until I found Silver Palates.

You guys have been there for me...forever! Thank you.

Me too! I found Gail's sometime in 94 or early 95. I was just divorced and newly

on my own and loving cooking. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, so I stayed, LOL!!! Thank you all!

I came a bit later, after '00. You helped me through tough times when nothing else made sense

We were in Saudi Arabia and we finally got the internet in about 1999.

Didn't take me long to find Gail's and I have loved it. Thanks everyone!

I was at Gail's in '95, shortly after they opened the Epicurious site

I remember seeing the ad for the web page in Bon Appetit and logging on.

We posted on the bulletin board like it was a chat...until Richard convinced them to open the chat site as well as the recipe site.

And like Sylvia said, the rest is history!

I started lurking in '96. My friends didn't believe that we could have a real community

online. A good friend finally told me I was right when she taught her first on-line class many years later, and found that she got to know her on-line students better than her classroom students.

But I'm sure they were not as amazing as all of you! This is a really special place.

I think I showed up at Gail's around '96 at which point, Marc pulled a thorn out of my paw and I was

in it for the long run.

I can't remember, but I was at Gail's for quite a while. Our group always makes me think of

that saying about having the family you're born to & the family you choose.

All the amazing history and this group still welcomes newcomers!

I think I came in in 2004. I stumbled upon you all while searching recipes on epi for catering

It was like finding a gang of old friends, even though it was new. You've seen me through catering dramas, the rise and fall of our retail business, our wedding, goats and other community garden stories and lots of wonderful meals.
