Why is it everytime I'm really in the mood to play in the kitchen I'm going out?

I know & DH came home wanting to go on an adventure & eat

so we drove down a little way from our house and went to Arrington Vineyards and sampled four wines, stopped by this little farm with homemade signs selling his excess tomato plants and got a dozen tomato plants then continued on to Chapel Hill which appears to have two places to eat - a Mexican restaurant and a whole in the wall diner. So we stopped at the diner. It was obvious from the moment we walked in the door that we were the only 'strangers' in there. But it didn't take them long to welcome us into the fold like locals.

That sounds like such a nice adventure! What kind of tomatoes did you get?

I am dirt deprived and like to live vicariously through y'all.

Missy, I'm making a pizza for a lunch/supper: BLT pizza, which is sauteed leeks, diced browned bacon, fresh mozzerella, halved grape tomatoes & black pepper.

It's in the oven now!!!

The pizza was awesome, pic inside:

And the crust worked - Hooray!!!

Isn't it pretty (despite my crappy camera)

The leeks were kindof weird though, when I halved them in the center was a hard white core - I pulled it out of the larger leeks and kept it for the smaller ones but they never really did get tender. So odd, these were leeks from the farmers market, anyone ever experienced this before? I ate mutant leeks - yeegads!
