Will be in NYC April 30 to May 3. Blowing it all on Hamilton ticket. I hope it worth it.

I saw the play is coming to Charlotte NC so I thought the tickets might be more reasonable. Oh no.

They were several hundred dollars MORE than the NYC prices. Have my ticket for May 2.

I'm treating my sisters to a night in Chicago and Hamilton for my b-day

the prices for the tickets there have come WAY down - like in hundreds of dollars!
Enjoy!

This is my b-day present to myself. Hitting 65 and figured I'd spend $650 on a ticket. Came damn

Near that....and only because I'm going on a weekday and not a weekend.

They released tickets via the verified fan presale-I got $250 for Broadway Saturday matinee in Sept

I like the verified fan presale - at least I had a chance. And was lucky to be selected to buy tickets.
I'm on the verified fan list for Harry Potter - that goes on sale early February so hopefully I'll be lucky enough to be selected to buy tickets for that.

Saw Spamilton on Broadway and it was wonderful!

Unfortunately, it closed on Jan 7th or I would strongly recommend seeing it, too, after you see Hamilton. Lin-Manuel loved it smileys/wink.gif We also saw LM's 1st musical "In the Heights" in a community theater production. Not as easy to "hear" the rap as Spamilton, and I expect Hamilton will be.

Bought the CD in the theater but linked Spamilton Cast Album for those who enjoy parody.

Your tickets will be totally worth it! Everyone who's seen it raves! Colleen

Happy early birthday, Marilyn!

We'll be catsitting or we would love to meet up with you in NYC smileys/smile.gif Enjoy your birthday and your NYC celebrations. Colleen

Bummer on missing you. I'm going to need that info on bus from LGA to Grand Central again.

That was PERFECT the last time.

We saw Spamilton last August - very good! A great small theatre experience, and

enjoyed the parody of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton, and all things Broadway!

We were staying at a hotel right next to the Rogers Theatre, so walked past the crowd waiting to see Hamilton on our way to the Spamilton show a few blocks away.

Enjoy whatever you see, and thanks for supporting live theatre!

M60 - SBS (Select Bus Service) from/to LaGuardia

Buy your MetroCard (having an old one will save $1) at ticket machine just inside the door as you exit LaGuardia to public transportation. Machine should be easy to spot - or ask someone to point you there. Check link in message below to decide which form of payment - 7-day unlimited or pay-by-ride.

THEN - IMPORTANT - wander out to M60 waiting area (heading west to Harlem/NYC) and THERE, insert your MetroCard in the machine to obtain a paper M60 SBS ticket. MOST TIMES, no one will check. BUT ONCE, we were not allow to board without the paper ticket and the bus left before we were able to quickly get paper tickets from the machine.

Recently we've been using GPS on our phones to alert us for NW Subway stop at Astoria/Hoyt/31st. Usually, people w/luggage get off there and driver announces - you can ask them to smileys/wink.gif Exit and climb stairs to subway platform. Take the N or W through the tunnel into Manhattan, get off at Lexington/59th and take the 4,5,6 Subway Downtown to Grand Central.

OR - and we've never - stay on the M60 bus across into Harlem and Upper E/W Side, then get off at 125th (and Lexington) and take the 4,5,6 Subway Downtown to Grand Central. smileys/wink.gif Colleen

We took a cab - once smileys/wink.gif

from LGA and it was a fantastic experience for older DS and me. But, any transpo above ground is very time consuming. (And taxi rides are expensive.)

I got onto a southbound bus - once - and went nuts waiting at traffic lights. Exited and walked several blocks to ride subway.

Last visit, we stayed at 4 different hotels over 4 days in 3 corners of city (plus Midtown at Lexington), with backpacks (always with Spirit smileys/wink.gif. The time before, we stayed 2-nights in Teaneck, NJ and 2 nights in Astoria (by LaGuardia) plus Midtown at Lexington, with backpacks. Wouldn't do that trip again (unless leaving car in New Jersey) but enjoyed the Teaneck Marriott and found it easy to navigate to/from Port Authority.

We're starting to get "special recognition" for being old by subway riders. We like to stand and ride but graciously take a seat when offered. Colleen

We did the same thing - walked by "Hamilton crowd" to get to Spamilton

We saw 3 productions during our last visit - Turandot at the Met, Stomp at the Orpheum and Spamilton. We were blown away by all 3! Colleen
