wow...a nice thread from "Best of 2009": good memories.

smileys/smile.gif and once again, if anyone is in touch with Richard or Joe, say hello. miss them

Yeah... Good point Ang, we have not heard from them in a while. Doing the best to mimic my mom..

"Richard and Joseph, you need to to check in now and again!"

Here I am! Micheal did pass on your hello. I was gone a good part of September

for an overdue trip to France with Jacques (it had been 10 years!) I had a big catering gig a week after I returned, and I've been playing catchup since then.

But I'm concerned. Steve2 predicted that Facebook would be the end of civilization. I'm afraid I spend too much time there. I promise to check in here more often, but meanwhile, here is my food-heavy France Facebook photo album:

Wonderful! I can't believe it has been 10 years! I recall reaching out to you after that trip re:

renting a boat... Somehow, I recall the name had Blue in it....

Glad you are so busy and had a wonderful trip! Look forward to hearing about your big catering event! What was the menu?

Best,
Barb

Me too. Look at me and Joe last December...

After all these years, and after sitting in (%!@*(#$^^$$% LA traffic for 2.5 hours), I arrived at the gracious home of Joe and Jacque. I was immediately welcomed and treated to a fabulous evening of Joe's amazing cooking. It could not get any better than this!

We arrived at Joe's and we were welcomed as old friends. (Better than family). It was an amazing evening with his (Joe's) cooking, and this amazing celebratory dinner, his friends, and just a wonderful welcome. After the lugubrious trip to get from Glendale to Long Beach, we drove home in 27 minutes. (All was not lost with the anticipation of finally meeting Joe, the sunset was glorious as we sat on the LA highways. Our GPS kept directing us further east to get out of the traffic until we ended up in Pasadena we said (*&^%8*&$%@) this and headed south).

We love Los Angeles!!!

Joe, my mobile died right after this. (If I didn't upload, all is lost). This is the only photo that survives from that night. Do you have photos to share?

Next up: Puerto Rico in December.

February: Buenos Aires

March: Antarctica Baby!!!

Crown Blue Line. Yep, ten years. I remember posting about how my 14-year-old niece was afraid of

French food and only would eat pizza. Now she spends her summers leading bike tours in Europe, inclucing Provence, and she speaks French.

Thanks for those kind words. I think this was the only picture taken.

We were too busy yakking. I think anything would have tasted "glorious" after that freeway ordeal.

What's not to love? Five wine glasses for three bottles of wine/handsome guys!

Where's that bowling lane countertop when you need it for a photo?

I was thinking the same thing, 3 bottles of wine for 3 people. But, not being an engineer, I hadn't

counted the number of wineglasses...just the bottles.

Look closely, there are six glasses. (One of them is embarassed to be associated with my cheap Pinot

Grigio and is hiding behind it.) But hat's only one end of the table.
