ZOMG!!! MICE in my KITCHEN.

I have hard success with the above Cambro containers(more)

They are hard plastic and have not been chewed through-
Even my Tupperware has been safe, but I do recommend glass, metal or hard plastic with lids...
I rely on traps and cats smileys/smile.gif

I have had the best luck with Peppermint essential oil. A few drops on a cotton ball

in each strategic corner does the trick for several months. I live in a very old house plagued by mice in the kitchen and rats in the attic.I put the cotton balls in the kitchen, and I wrap pebbles in cloth, douse wiith oil, and toss into the corners of the attic (in my case, a very shallow crawl space).. It works better than poison, services, traps, etc.

Also, it doesn't hurt to stuff steel wool into any suspected openings..

Well, it hurts the mice.

Good to know. I don't like those horrible traps. The worst are the ones that stick the feet

of the poor critters to them so that they rip their feet off.

The peppermint oil is intolerable to them. I have lain in bed and listened to the critters crawl up

the walls, then scamper back down again, after the first application. After that it is silent for months.

Joe, it is like the mouse-vine is spreading the word: FRESH PEPPERMINT OIL. STEER CLEAR. Too funny!

I'm so late to this; sorry. We had them this winter. Dousing counters w/ bleach

every night helped, as did copious amounts of peppermint oil on Q-tips (replaced nightly) around the kitchen. Steel wool stuffed into cracks. I ended up moving virtually all of our staples (sugar, flour, etc.) into the fridge/freezer, and didn't leave anything in the cupboards but tea and condiments. It's awful. My sympathies. smileys/frown.gif
