A candidate for the worst-sounding recipe in history REC Crisco Sandwich Spread

Hmmm, I've got over 2 gallons of duck fat in my freezer, leftover

from my big cassoulet dinner last year. I can't toss it out because it's so expensive in the stores, I can't sell it because I'm not licensed, and sauteed potatoes only use a little at a time. I never thought of making fat sandwiches! Yum! Thanks!

Joe, have you thought about...

making soap? I can just see my Gross Grossmutter in a swoon at the very thought of a lovely bar of goosefat soap for her bath. smileys/smile.gif

Well in Italy they eat lardo on bread....

lardo is very thinly sliced cured lard - it's delicious, especially if you're up on a mountain somewhere and they give you honey and walnuts with it.... yum

Okay, NOW you're scaring me! >>>

It's one thing to imagine slathering it on bread but bathing in it?!!! Gross Gross indeed, LOL. I bet her skin was nice and soft, though.

OOPS, Richard, I just read your soapmaking post above

so maybe it's not so far-fetched. I hope I didn't offend, but all I can picture is the look of the dishwater in my sink when I'm cleaning up after duck confit. Not an inviting sight!

We had a dog that ate a whole big container of vaseline. . .

and then at a different time she ate a whole container of pure lanolin.

Lets just say that she "moved" quite easily both times! (lol!)

LOL! Kind of like when our Springer Spaniel pulled a pan of

pork drippings from off the stove.

Dogs.

Gotta love 'em!

Debbie
