Any menus or food planned for Easter?

Speakingn of...you may be interested in some ideas and recipes that

can be prepared in your oven. Having coveted a Forno Bravo oven for many years I've been subscribing to their e-newsletter filled with ideas, recipes and tips. At the link are some more recipes. I especially like the gluten free pizza idea in a cast iron skillet. I've made pizza that way a few times at home in a cast iron skillet and it turns out great, though I wasn't focussed on gluten free. This gluten free method is great if you're catering to true celiacs as their gluten free pizza probably shouldn't be allowed to touch/cook where gluten ingredients have previously been.

Other cool ideas: roasting garlic, and cauliflower, and foccacia on a sheet pan.

this whole post makes me so happy! I can surely picture the oven in the garden. We will plan our

next trip down when you have some terrific garden bash. Wish I could donate some bottles!!

And after living in Alaska for 24 years, I believe we live up to the "land of fruits and nuts" as well or even better than you Californians!

Thanks that's a great resource! I'm hoping to have a dinner this summer

where all the courses are done in the oven. I made sure the opening fit my cast iron skillets and a standard half baking sheet. (with Kiko's permission.)

We found out recently that my youngest niece has celiac disease. They live in Portland but sooner or later I hope she'll be here for pizza. I was already worried about how to isolate gluten free dough from all the flour floating around.

After Hurricane Sandy, like everyone else, we did not have power. We were the only ones with a

generator, and as you would imagine, had our friends / tea group and families here in the evening. One night, we decided to go to our neighbors for a driveway party. My neighbor moved her fire pit to the driveway to be used for heat. We were shocked when the police came and said that it was against code. Apparently, if it had a hotdog on it, then it would be treated like a barbecue, but because we did not have any food on it, they decided to "warn" us. To this day, we are convinced we know exactly the neighbor that called the police. Imagine our dismay, after such a horrible storm and subsequent damage, the police felt compelled to alert us to the codes / regulations~!

I hope you keep a few hot dogs in your freezer now for future emergencies! It's hard to imagine the

police didn't have more pressing business after the hurricane.

Well, I love the price tag...and it comes with wine!

Likely won't get it done soon though (I want to, but lots of other more pressing house projects), besides if I light it it's likely the entire state of Droughtafornia will go up in flames!
