Crispy Roasted Broccoli

I'm not familiar with Carole Walter's book but I do have Sherry Yard's. It was worth the price just

for that "Family Tree" she has in the front of each section. That was a real "ah ha!" moment for me, seeing the relationship between chocolate and cream, for example. A good amount of chocolate and a little cream=truffles. More cream=puddings, even more cream=hot chocolate.

 
Ang, did the ricotta have an affect on texture, taste? I'm just curious how it was different

 
It was dense, but the crumb was like velvet. I used almond flavoring and almond slices on top, but

the ricotta makes it just a bit twang-ie, so i'll try it with lemon and lemon zest next time, although the almond/vanilla was great and I added a tsp more flavoring to mellow it more. I just liked the idea that I was eating something "healthy", the ricotta, with each slice.

 
This cake is TDF! Several years ago I made it all during strawberry season....

We'd go buy berries at the berry farm and my family would beg for them on this cake!

Oh, my. With sweetened whipped cream. ha No Cool Whip at our house! smileys/smile.gif

I even froze a loaf and forgot about it and it was still good a long time later.

Wonderful recipe.

Can't imagine how I forgot I had that cake in the freezer!!!!!
