FRC snark alert: I'm tempted to start a really snarky thread about cooking show pet peeves. Reason?

Me neither! I don't mind Lidia's Mom, daughter or grandkids being on her show but her son Joe

is a major detriment to her show with his overbearing, arrogant, and obnoxious demeanor while standing side-by-side with his Mom, Lidia.

I just can't stomach him and wish that Lidia would take one of her wooden spoons and........!!

Ok, I'll yield to the Ducky from Florida. The MOM is great. She HAS the expertise and the...

...and the outspoken manner only someone in their 80's can muster.

Love her!

Michael

Here's my 2-cents' worth==> Why in creation does RR have to go "shopping" at the beginning of

every show--trotting around her kitchen to pull ingredients out of the fridge and cupboards? What a time-waster for the audience. She should simply ollect everything she needs for the meal she's presenting and have it on the counter BEFORE the cameras begin rolling, please.

I think she does that on purpose....

... to "prove" that you can do EVERYTHING, from entering the kitchen to enjoy the food in 30 minutes

(of course, as others noted already, the said food will be often undercooked so she can reach the finish line before the whistle blows... smileys/smile.gif

but I agree, it's annoying to see her trying to balance 12 different items on a large tray as she brings to the countertop

I know we're getting close to the 25th? post, so I'll indent here... Rachel Ray's "up"

phrases... cook it UP, fry it UP, serve it UP - does that bug anyone else?

Eva, I think dh loves to eat so he wants to make sure I'm willing to cook. If he's home, he always

cleans up after me. Since he doesn't cook, it's his way of helping out. He also grates cheese, shells shrimp, etc and is the designated salad dressing maker if I'm not making a specialty dressing. He makes delicious oil and vinegar based salad dressing. I guess I'll keep him.

I have started using 1% milk fat cottage cheese in my lasagnas

and my little Greek quiches. I have been able to make them Weight Watcher's friendly because of it. I turned up my nose when I saw my sister make her lasagna like this, but to be honest, I cannot tell the difference. I add fresh garlic, spinach and an egg; and then use like ricotta.

I enjoy watching Rachael Ray, now that is on-site at her home. Yet, it drives me batty, when she scratches her head and then continues to cook. Or when she is doing an interview, and she pulls up her sweater sleeve, only to pull it back down again a second later. She is a bit loud and always waves her hands in front of John's face. Poor guy just sits there so patiently.

Yet, I continue to watch, somethings about it I find quite humorous, and I do enjoy many of her guests when she allows them to speak a complete sentence. I say this with respect and humor, it is a fun show to watch. She seems to be a very down-to-earth person.

Back to Rachael Ray...why is it that most days all she makes is a huge pot of pasta, and a huge pot of veggies, and goes to great length with those huge towels to merge it all together. Her kitchen works for her, but for me, I would go nuts with all that stuff. I get such a kick out of that show....and continue to watch it every day, I must be sick!
