Help! I scored an invite to Diner en Blanc....aka fancy flash mob dinner. What would you make?

Oh Cyn, thank you so much!

I'm embarrassed, with all the food allergies and by ankle and other injuries I haven't been writing anything of quality...

Maybe someday soon!

I was looking for this! I remember you making it for a picnic

and others have tried and loved it also. This would be a good choice.

I love it cold with potato salad. And when I want to dress up potato salad I garnish it with

deviled eggs. Now I am picturing a huge platter with a dome of potato salad in the middle, surrounded by pieces of chicken alternating with deviled eggs. A few parsley sprigs and you're up a notch!

Wow! That's a terrific post. Thanks for sharing! I loved seeing all the other tables. I'm a guest &

apparently there's a woman who has taken on the role of decorating our table. Apparently she's been several times and it's her "thing." Fine by me. I'm looking forward to NOT hauling all that stuff in and packing it out. smileys/smile.gif

Orchid, I like the way you think! This sounds lovely. We have 18 people in our party and

I was thinking about making this as an appetizer. I bought 3 white salad plates that have a fun design. I was thinking instead of making one large one of these, I'd make three smaller ones. (Giving me an excuse to buy the small springform pans.) smileys/smile.gif But I love the idea of that layered omlette too. Gah! I'm sure I'll change my mind 20 times before the event!

I've read recipes like this and never tried them. This sounds like the perfect opportunity for it.

How is all of that stuff (decorations, lighting, food, plateware) getting to tables? I only

see a few people with carryalls. The rest of the guests are just strolling in. Is someone allowed to come early and deliver the table setup?

Nope, not most of them. It is kept secret until a couple of hours

before and then they are given the time and place. It is up to everyone to bring everything and then leave with everything. NOTHING is to be left behind. It's a fascinating concept and seems to work. As I have said before I am obsessed with this and would love to experience it. I found out yesterday that Miami is having their first one this year. I have mulled around signing up on a wait list and it just might be possible to get a slot since it is the first one. However, I don't have the 28"x28" folding table, white folding chairs, white clothes for us both and white china. It would be a challenge to find the exact items and expensive. It would be fine if I thought I could do it again every year but I "ain't" getting any younger. sigh

That is a great choice too. Now you do understand you are required

to let us (ME) know what you take and take copious amounts of photos right? LOL...but I'm serious...I'm experiencing it through you.

Traca, garnish out Joe's deviled eggs w/ white pansy blossoms. Yes, a garnish 4 his garnish! lol
