I have been wanting to ask this question for a long time ;-)

Oh, have I got a shoe for you!

MBT shoes. I don't want to sound like an ad or spam but I have nerve damage in both feet and standing or walking was *greatly* impacted. These shoes changed my life. Seriously.

Ok, I'm gonna tell you they are expensive and look kinda dorky, but these shoes have saved me. The soles are full of air and are designed for folks with feet, knee, hip, and back problems. The curve of the bottom improves how you stand and with the sole full of air you feel like you are standing on a pillow. It's a little slice of heaven.

All I can say is just go try-on a pair to see if you like them. The size runs a bit off true so go get fitted (try-on several styles for fit) and walk a bit as balancing on the curve takes getting use to.

Since I hurt my feet things like grocery shopping on my feet and standing to cook could not happen in the same day. With thse shoes I recently walked the entire UCLA campus all day at the LA Book Fair. I no longer wear anything but these shoes.

The place I got mine said lots of folks with plantar fasciitis buy them and it's the only shoes they wear. I hope they can be as life changing for you as they were for me. smileys/smile.gif

Also, as dorky as they look folks always come up and ask me about them -- I guess the celebrity types are into wearing them; I saw them in InStyle magazine!

And I gained on Nutrasystems...(come sit by me!)...

and got screamed at by the admitted former drill sergeant employee who, in front of the whole group, claimed I cheated (I didn't). This was years ago and I never went back.

Currently my docter shared my weight broken down by body fat. I didn't ask for this. On no...he took it upon himself to make me get on this weird scale and its computer printout told me just how much fat I needed to lose.

And you know what? I'm just... not that into doing anything about it right now. I will, again (sigh) but not right now.

Right now I'm going to eat whatever I please. And I'm going to have a glass of wine or cocktail if I want to as well. Care to join me?

Here's to us! The chunky ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. I mean, if we didn't have some of us round ones in the square holes once in a while --where would the world be?!

We are just doing are part to make the world a better place.

Whoa! Yup, expensive, but you know when you're hurting the cost doesn't seem so bad smileys/smile.gif

Yes, they are $$$$ but get fitted then go ebay...

I paid full price for my first pair and then found I could get them on ebay for lots cheaper. But get fitted first so you will know which shoe/size works best for you.

For me, since I wear them everyday, the cost worked out.

I have these too! I've turned on several friends to these .

A friend of mine used to bartend at the Ritz and she told me about them. I got a pair and loved them. I have a crappy back and they make walking Kobe so much better. But.......... they do take some getting used to. Don't try picking up a case of wine from the floor........... Sierra Trading Posts carries discontinued styles for alot less.
I like FitFlops for summer wear. Victoria Secrets and I believe Nordies carries them. Runs about $49.99 a pair.

I called VS and they only carry FitFlops thru the catalog... I'll try Nordstrom as I'd love

to try on a pair before buying!

These look great -- I'm going tomorrow to try and find them...

I want some sandals for the summer. I just got a pair of MBT sandals off eBay today (over $100 savings) but I'd love some flipflop types. Thank you for the info!

And yes MBTs take getting use to. Sometimes I forget I'm not standing in flat shoes, bend over while drying my hair and nearly tip over.

I say I have the "Flemish Farm Girl" look.

I cannot remember a time when weight has not been a problem for me. My mother could eat anything without gaining a pound and she never exercised. Grrr. Unfortunately, I got my father's metabolism. I don't even have to eat food for the calories to leap onto my hips. And I hate to exercise (except for Zumba, which I LOVE).

The best diet I've found has been breastfeeding. I only gained a few pounds with the baby, but once I started nursing, I dropped 40 pounds instantly, without any effort on my part. It was amazing. Unfortunately, you'd never notice that I'd lost all that! (Although the clothes do fit a lot better.) And now, my body has adjusted to the breastfeeding, so the weight loss has stopped. But it was great while it lasted.

I love to bake, but rarely do because I work at home and I will literally eat the whole pan of brownies, batch of cookies, cake, whatever, within three days of baking it. Nobody I know wants baked stuff either. So unless we're having people over for dinner or it's a birthday, no baking.

I'm trying very hard to eat more fruit and drink more water. It seems so unfair that to lose weight, I have to think about food much more often than before. Sometimes I think I'd rather be thin than smart. Sad, but true.

I had a horrible experience in the early days of Nutrasystem too. they were awful mean. and wanted

more $$ even though my months were not yet up. awful traumatic experience.
