I'm doing a cake that's made in a 13x9x2 but I'd like to make it in a 15x10x2.

How much should I increase the recipe?

I'm always afraid if I guess wrong the pan will overflow while baking and ruin the entire cake.

Cyn, here's a really quick stab at this:

volume for 13x9x2 pan = 234
volume for 15x10x2 pan = 300

300/234 = 1.28, so there is .28 MORE volume in the larger pan.

To simplify, I would increase your ingredients by .25 (or 25%) (or 1/4) of everything...other than an egg.

However, I wouldn't increase the raising agents. Long explanation about "too much rising agents is not good either" that I can't do without more caffeine.

Thanks- I put it in excel and I get numbers like .1875 . No clue!

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups flour

these are the only 3- the rest are duplicates

Looks like your ""hell-thy" dessert is still giving you a PIA!! smileys/frown.gif

What did you decide on? And they'd BETTER eat it!!

Having an allaround bad day. Went out to the store, in a hurry, stopped half way out

of the garage to pick up the garbage can cover (d#mn wind) and the garage door came down on my car. Then it turned into the tv commercial where the door keeps going up and down on the woman's car. I attempted to back out while the door was up, but I guess it came back down 'cause I ripped the door off the rollers and cracked the door.
Came home and took the showers doors off to clean and ripped the roller off that, too!
Not touching anything else with rollers today!

Hey, you can join my club. I drove OUT the IN at the car rental and blew ALL four tires.

I was so shocked when the two front tires blew that I kept driving forward! And blew out the BACK TWO!!

And since the car wouldn't drive WITHOUT AIR IN THE TIRES, I got to--adding insult to stupidity--pay to have it TOWED to put on the 4 new tires I got to buy!

Cost me an additional $510 in stupidity fees.

So far, everyone I've told this to has said the exact same thing: "I thought that only happened in commercials or on comedy shows."

When, in fact, what they were too polite to say was "I never knew anyone stupid enough to actually do that."
