Ok, so here's the deal. Until I'm done with chemo (October), I have to drink 64 ounces of water per day. I can't drink soda or wine or hard liquor. I'm trying to stay away from lemonade because of the sugar (cancer cells like sugar). It's only May and I'm already sick of iced tea. smileys/smile.gif

Does anyone have any drinks ideas? Maybe if I did half lemonade/half water??? Just looking for a couple of options to get me through the summer.

Check out the Crystal Lite selections at your local grocery. Many are outstanding.

Amanda, I like some of the flavored (unsweetened) sparkling waters

They come in a bunch of different flavors.

Also, strawberry agua fresca. Puree a pint of strawberries then add two to three cups of water, the juice of a lime and splenda to taste.

Thank you, Marilyn, for my eBay purchase of the week: a vintage Osterizer blender...

Aguas frescas, here we come! (It was 80 degrees here today.) smileys/smile.gif

Now I can make those Rosa Mexicano aguas frescas (or an approximation)!

I read this recipe in an article recently - looks refreshing but I haven't tried it yet....

2 liters of water
2 sliced lemon
sliced cucumber
2 tsp ( I think) grated fresh ginger
12 mint leaves.

Leave overnight in refrigerator and drink the next day.
You could probably downgrade the amt. of lemon.

And then there's always limonana! You could cut the lemonade down, though.

I think this is the basic recipe:
Blend crushed ice with lemonade (and water) and a handful of mint leaves until the mint is pulverized. Tasty!

We also usually cut fruit juice with seltzer. Lighter and insanely frugal. smileys/smile.gif
