My Saturday Six (can't believe I'm first!)

I would thing you were right, except it's

got a 1/2-inch hole in the bottom (for pouring, I understand that) and a big ol' cork in the hole to act as a stopper.

You're probably right though...

Yes Pat, you are right!! Thanks. It's definatley Rosenthal. The

second maker's mark is identical. I'll have to look up their products sometime, but at least now I know that it's from 1891-1906. Much older than I thought. Wouldn't it be nice if it was valuable!

The picture you describe of your little town makes

me want to come visit - sounds so quaint! "...sitting in a garden coffee shop on Main Street, looking out at our old iron bridge"

No it won't. Because...because...you picked up this charming little plate

the last time you were at home, asked Mom if you could have it, used it all the time to carry in cakes to work because it has these tiny open flanges on the sides and at the end of the day you could carry it home by swinging it on your finger and you love, love, loved it because it's the prettiest color pink.

But then...one day...one sad day, a secretary will notice you carrying it out, swinging off your finger and she'll say: "Wait...wait, M...come back here. Can I see that dish?" Then she'll get on the phone and call up another woman, who scoot over to her desk and together they will confer and they will nod and then they'll get on the internet and they'll say: YES! And then they'll tell you that your little pink dish is a "Depression glass plate with cherry cluster" in perfect shape and did you know you could sell it for $90 on ebay?

And the answer to that would be: No, you didn't.

But from that day forward, you'll be wary every time you use it. Now you'll make sure it doesn't get chipped against the other dishes. Now you won't swing it off your finger anymore. Because now it's valuable.

Even though you want to.

Come and visit me, Dawn. Every Monday we have Music on Main Street.

Everyone brings lawn chairs or sits on the grass. Churches and local civic orgs. have a bake sale, sell ice cream sundaes or popcorn and soda.
Every time I attend all I think of is what a great photo this would have been on the old Saturday Evening Post cover. smileys/smile.gif

Clever C! I'm off to weight a ribbon stick now...hold the fort...

Not...that's not a standard. Mine are 100 grams each (3.5 oz)....10 ribbons to a 1 kg package.

Why didn't I think of weighting them before?

We had darker, smaller, ribbon'd soba noodles that I'll bet matched yours. Actually liked those better.

Fish oil = Omega 3s The fish gelatin is likely a thickening agent or helps to keep the emulsion,

and also has antimicrobial properties.

Maybe, and even sharpening the pins like the old pin cushions full of emory

used to be. But it's days of pins and salt are over. It's got confectioner's sugar in there now.

If it's any consolation to anyone who thinks this is gross (like me), this particular yogurt

is called Probiotic Plus (with added healthy good stuff in it). Store brand.
