REC: Curried Cream Cheese and Smoked Trout Dip
I love this one from the LA Junior League. It was on Gail's too.
CASSIN'S CURRIED CHEESE
ingredients
16 oz of cream cheese - softened
1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder
1/2 cup of chopped peanuts
1/2 cup of currants or raisins
1/2 cup of cooked chopped bacon
1/2 cup of chopped green onions
Chutney
preparation
Mix together
Place is a bowl or make into a shape and top with chutney - any kind is fine. Serve with crackers. Better the next day.
An accidental one I came up with.
SMOKED TROUT DIP
ingredients
1 pkg. Smoked trout fillets (whole Foods has them)
1 pkg. of garlic and herb cream cheese (Rondele or Boursin)
You may want to adjust the amounts to your preferred consistency. Mix together in food processor. I have chilled it in a fish mold for a fancier presentation. Serve with crackers. You can also pipe it in to cherry tomatoes.
