Oh no! I hope she feels better soon and you get your turkey dinner down the road.

Meanwhile pumpkin milkshakes might work, and perhaps CB can use the brine as a gargle.

We'll have eight people over for dinner this year. Luckily I have just enough chairs.

Here's the menu:

Roasted Turkey
Gravy
Sage Stuffing
Mashed potatoes
Cranberries
Blue Hubbard Squash
Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Gingerbread with Roasted Pears/Whipped Cream
Apple Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Vanilla ice cream

We have my SIL from South Africa here this year smileys/smile.gif

She thinks I'm making too much.

But she is helping, and DD is home from California after a road trip from Long Beach with her sister (they had such fun on the way) So I have help with the prep!

Smoked fish pate with crackers
Onion and bacon tartlets

Roast turkey and MIL's Portuguese stuffing
Becky's cranberry sauce
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Laurie Colwin’s spinach
Herb-roasted sweet potatoes
Green beans with balsamic glazed pearl onions
cheezz'z corn pudding

Apple orange tart with marmalade glaze
Cheesecake

Wow. I am amazed you both escaped it. I personally love it just for the nostalgia

Canned green beans, Cream of Mushroom soup......oh boy. My family puts the canned toasted onions on top before baking. We also put some cheese, onions and extra mushrooms in just for a little more gooey flavor. Ummmmmm.

My menu

I have no idea since I'm going to a small gathering at my SIL's!

I'm making a pumpkin pie and am thinking of trying CI's version, but she repeatedly said she wants a traditional version and I don't know if it comes out like that or not, so I'm wavering between it and the Libby's version.

Making Dorie's All American Apple Pie (with ice cream)

Fresh cranberry sauce, because I like it (nobody except my MIL there likes cranberry sauce of any kind)

Holiday cranberry jello - for the same reason as above.

MIL will make her sage/sausage dressing and her legendary gravy
Other SIL got stuck with mashed potatoes
