Question. If you could take a cooking class from anyone (alive), who would it be...and why?

I would look for an old Italian lady who has cooked for her family all her life.

I would take a class with Mary Ann Esposito, have loved her books and recipes for years. Would ..>

also take a class with Nick Malgieri for all of his baking expertise.

I like Eva's answer, but I've never made a Molly Steven's recipe I didn't love, so I'll choose her.

Mario Batali, I think he has an edge over other celebrity chefs. Funny, we're all choosing Italians.

Sitting in a French farmhouse kitchen with Julia Child and Simone Beck, drinking wine and cooking!

As with a zillion other people she was my first inspiration to cook (in 3rd grade), and once she did a JC&Co show with her friend Simone, they were having such fun!

Lee Bailey. His food always looks so...Great Gatsby-ish

As if from a time when high quality was expected, but not gaudy. Meals are displayed on classic, elegant, yet casual service ware--even on beachy photoshots.

I can imagine a barefoot lawn picnic, sitting at a wooden table out under a tree, with a berry pie bubbling through the not-perfect, but perfect pie crust.

I think of him and I think...élan.

I'm a Michael Chiarello fan. His recipies always turn out beautifully, not to mention

that he is easy on the eyes as well!

Perhaps an offshoot of Paul Bocuse or a contemporary of his, in France though. Must travel

Or maybe Guy Savoy.

oooh. Think I'll start packing.
