Weird! Once my poor Powerbook gets back from the shop I'll check it out
but my guess is that it was on an old Mac, it was some issue with an old version of IE for Mac (which was never any good) or an early version of Safari (which has been greatly improved in later versions). After the thread number which is generated by the database on this site, the 1s, 2s and 3s are actually generated by the browser using HTMLs ordered lists, the < ol > tag. So if those were screwed up it has to be the browser.
