I moved here in 1981. That day of 122 was June 26, 1990, day my nephew was born, the heat caused my
sister to go into labor. I bought that T-shirt that said "I survived 122 on June 26, 1990" I gave it to my sister. My Nephew Johnny has worn it (doesn't like it though)
I've been to Philly, many many times, upstate Pennsylvania as well. I lived in Iselin NJ, by Woodbridge, and it was a little over 1 1/2 hours to Philly. When we were teenagers on school vacation, we would get on a train and mostly go to Manhatten or Philly. I toured the Philly museum, it was great even touched the Liberty Bell... I was on a girl scout field trip in 1975 (11 yrs old) As I got older, I went there often, the food was like no other. Pizza, hogies, and of course the famous Philly sandwich, no place in AZ matches that- maybe Romanelli's, unless of course you know some. As for as the Italian Sandwiches go... there is a place on 35th Ave & Dunlap called Romanelli's, their sandwiches will make you homesick and their mini Italian grocery store and goods are superb. I haven't tried their Philly sandwiches though my brother Paul said they were like home.
