Someone once described picy eaters as having control issues, meaning
it's a psychological issue, not a taste related one.
I don't have any patience for adults who are picky eaters either.
I do have a food allergy myself, and I totally respect people with allergies or people who avoid certain ingredients because of their religion or ideology, but when adults start commenting on my food - loudly - around the table, like "PEAS in the stew? I cannot eat peas or anything it has touched because they are icky" then I'm done.
And yes, the pea story is true.
Needless to say, the person hasn't been invited back.
