Weekend Six

my six

1. watching TCM all day today. Operation Petticoat, Fiddler on the Roof, National Velvet, Wuthering Heights
2. Spring Cleaning in my bedroom whilst TV is playing. finally taking that new bedspread out of it's packaging
3. making more salsa to share
4. Sunday Doggie Park outing
5. Sunday early dinner with friends then Folk Festival final night music
6. baking something with pineapple---maybe the carrot cake posted up above.

Ang, your day sounds delightful!

Did you like the salsa? I had my stepdaughter take the carrot cake leftovers home with her, way too dangerous to have that around here!

My six

I just ate the most delicious Ruby Red grapefruit. So sweet and juicy. Yum! I need to buy some grapefruit spoons though.

I am going to make cheezz's banana bread she posted above.

I am making some more freezer sweet sour pickles.

I have a giant cabbage that I bought at the co op yesterday, and am thinking about what I want to do with it. Freezer coleslaw maybe.

It is sunny today and I am so happy about that.

I can't get the French Breakfast radishes out of my head. I want to grow some now! This looks so good as do the radishes. I grew them before and they were easy and delicious.

I can't the link to open fullly. Is it me? You idea of baking

cheezz's banana bread sounds good, and I just happen to have about 5 very ripe bananas on hand. I love the addition of semi-sweet chocolate bits to it, and the glaze sounds like a great addition. Thanks for the suggestion Olga, cheezz, and Dawn.

Hmm, looks like I thought it was a great idea back in '06 too, but I never tried it with the glaze...

I didn't have a problem with it.

I am going to make it in a little bit. Your photo looks so deceivingly pretty, but brrrrrrrr!
We are coming out of a cold snap and I am so glad about it.

Weekend Six ?

* Finished off the last of the Black Bean Soup (everytime I make this, I want to make more even before we are finished with this pot!)
* Made about 100 sweet potato gnocchi for dinner tonight (another addiction)
* With the extra egg white and some almond paste leftover from the holidays made some amaretti from a different recipe than I usually use (in oven right now)
* Trying to finish library book "What the Dog Saw" by Malcolm Gladwell before due date (not renewable)
* Minor shopping (vacuum bags)& Costco run
* Going to SF Sunday to see "Fiddler On the Roof"

I love the fact there is no vinegar in it. I had to put vinegar in my salsas

and cook them, which is why I think I like this one so much. The tomatoes are already cooked, but the salsa isn't. I love this salsa. It isn't RB authentic, it is just a good easy one to make and eat. This summer, I will be eating it gazpacho style.

mine is HOT. the jalapeno was not very hot, but I used a hot rotel and a regular. must be quite a

difference in the two. I will taste again tomorrow. It made lots! I have 3 Glad screwtop plastic containers to give away, plus one to keep. I made mine in the blender, used 2 cloves of garlic the whole lime juiced and added about 1/2 tsp chipotle chile powder--maybe that's the heat?
