Where is everyone? It's been like a ghost town here for weeks. Anyone out there? Hey, Melissa, it

Hi Meryl! I'm still grinding away on Atkins so haven't cooked much worth mentioning

in ages. I sure would like a piece of that cake though.

I think I am going to make coconut custard with coconut milk, whipping cream, eggs & a little gelatin, using Torani sugar-free syrup as the sweetener. Doesn't that sound exciting?

I just finished my first bed-sized quilt & am in the process of hand-stitching the binding down. It is 80x80 & it is taking forever. Makes my wrist hurt. Also had to whack off all my long fingernails. Can't pull a needle with them in the way.

Kitchen renovation started.....

.... work in the lab more intense than usual, sometimes I wonder at the end of the day how the heck did we get there

anyway, one day at a time, one step at a time.... Mid-October renovation should be completed and I will be THRILLED!

Sally how exciting for you. We did ours several years ago and I couldn't wait to

go home from work every day just to see the progress. I cooked on a camp burner on the deck for about a month or so and it worked out just fine. I didn't mind the inconvenience because I was getting a wonderful new kitchen. I still love it and am in it every spare minute I can find. Good luck with yours I know you will love it too smileys/smile.gif

Closing, packing, trashing, ranting, raving,

Wishing it was October with all this behind us - and that's a first for me! I love summer in Michigan but the daily crisis has taken it's toll on my dear hubs and me. This too will pass smileys/wink.gif Colleen

No doubt!

this is actually the fourth renovation Phil and I have been through together, including a major kitchen renovation back in Oklahoma

this is easier by comparison, but as you know, always a bit tough to go through. I cannot wait to cook on our new range, a Blue Star! The gas line is installed and approved by the inspectors, but we must wait for the end of it all (floor installation) to get the appliances working. That won't happen until the first week of October

Kitchen remodel here too. Cabinets and countertop ordered. Exploring appliances. Pop in here every

few weeks or so the past 6 months. The swap used to be a daily habit since I first got hooked in the late 90s, but life has been busy of late so now I check in when I can.

1BR apartment too small for baby napping and typing to coexist. Moving to a 2BR in 10 days! smileys/smile.gif

PRAISE THE LORD, AND PASS THE GRITS.

Seriously. If I have to spend a moment more than necessary in this apartment, I am going to go even more stark raving yo-yos than I already am.

Praising, and passing (the grits). Sorry to miss seeing you in NYC last week. Next

time for sure. Congrats on the new apartment, and happy moving! Can't wait to hear all about your new kitchen! smileys/smile.gif

Especially bad! Thanks for asking

We found out on Tuesday that our buyers' lock was expiring on Friday (3 days later) so we rescheduled everything to be available for the closing. Thursday was especially crazy with all the rushed paperwork and then Friday mid-morning we got the call that the closing was postponed until Monday. We were told that the mortgage lender was able to get an extension on the lock because her husband had emergency surgery Thursday morning. M-U-S-T S-E-L-L H-O-U-S-E! Whatever it takes. smileys/wink.gif Colleen

I was just in the stud-wall of my NC kitchen. It's MINISCULE! I added

extra windows (which with my long waist and height, somehow managed to line up with my eyes RIGHT at the metal breaking point between upper/lower sashes. What bad luck was that!). Now I have almost no wall space for upper cabinets. The one wall that I can use has to be used for the stove because of the venting through the roof. Fourth "wall" is entry area and opens into the living room. I hate feeling closed in.

I thought my kitchen here in Florida was small...this one feels like a Barbie kitchen.

On the other hand, the living room is nice and cozy and has two porches.
