Would like your suggestions as readers PLEASE!

Maybe have two places for comments?

One called "General comments" and one for after people have tried the recipe--call it something like: "Tried it? Share Your Thoughts." Or something like that.

I wouldn't want to stop people from commenting because that's how you create a community. But perhaps there's a better way to funnel the comments into the appropriate buckets.

A strong narrative thread can pull people in and make them return. Recipes alone have less pull...

But I speak as a lapsed blogger, so you might do well to take my advice with a hefty grain of salt. smileys/wink.gif

p.s. Now that you've created all this good buzz, Mimi, please let us know when it goes live! smileys/smile.gif

But since you were so kind enough to specifically ask, I think I'm okay...

and I'll definitely let you know! ;o)

Will be another month or so.

Oh, I forgot about that. All I meant was that good buzz/word of mouth is great for blogs. smileys/smile.gif

You've got to be kidding....ohhhh myyyy goshhh, kindly ask him to hustle up his blog.) I do

believe he'll find a dedicated following of viewers and contributors.)

Interesting to hear how many of you print recipes...I copy & paste them into Word or e-mail

and take my computer into the kitchen. Paper, other than a book, for recipes is pretty much non-existent.

Thank you & Introduction

Hello all,

I'm Nic (aka vavroom) and I'm the guy Mimi has graciously agreed to help with graphic design for the site.

I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful suggestions. Some of them are already in the works like print button - choose print with or without photos, or descriptive photos of step-by steps. There is going to be a solid search engine, but more work is still needed to make content even easier to find. It's a work in progress but I'm excited about it smileys/smile.gif

One feature that will make its way to the site (though maybe not on initial release) is for visitors to be able to select which recipe, technique or blog entry they wish to include in a book, and they can order their own custom printed book. Still ironing out the details of that smileys/smile.gif

I've done a lot of thinking about target audience, and I have in fact several groups. I think that my style of writing and content covered will be inviting for everyone. Novice cooks will find easy recipes, cooking lessons and basic theory, and be able to "dream" about doing the more complex things. Experienced cooks will have a chance to refresh their understanding of what they are doing, find interesting recipes, ideas, etc.

I like the idea of talking about 'life in the kitchen', although I haven't been in a professinal kitchen in several years. I might do some posts in the "I remember when" style to address some of that smileys/smile.gif There are plenty of stories that would be fun to write about (and for you to read, I hope).

Anyway, just a bit of an intro for now smileys/smile.gif more later.
