Would like your suggestions as readers PLEASE!

Good stuff, that

Thanks for the link Traca. Very good blog entry, and a good reminder. For me, blogging is about the interaction between people, so we can all learn something new and have fun. Hence, participating in the comments on my own site is ubber important smileys/smile.gif

Got to get the site to go live before dreaming about having dozens of comments on each post though! smileys/smile.gif

I like to see complete menus posted like some do here in T&T -- it gives you a better idea

of which recipes might go together and what sides or drinks to serve with it.

Noted

Thanks Cheez, I've noted your suggestion and will see how to best incorporate it in the site.

I love your avatar btw, lov'ly puppy smileys/smile.gif

Yup, he's a blessing and a scourge smileys/smile.gif by the name of 'Dodger' after the Dickens character

very nice!! now I'm even more hungry for lunch. I like to be able to see the food. some blogs get

too artsy with the blurred photos, I think it's calaled bokey, and you can't tell what the heck is in the photo.

Thank you Traca

Are you volunteering to give me a softbox? smileys/smile.gif And the Alien Bee to go with it? LOL

I'm working on lighting, but even though the kitchen is nice and spacious and works well for cooking, it's not ideal for taking photos. And I'm still taking photos of the dishes I make just prior to eating them, so photographic setup is not ideal. But we'll figure it out smileys/smile.gif

Light is always an issue--especiallly with food photography. Believe it or not, my friend Lara

bought her neighbor's house because the light was better! But since most food shots are taken just before consumption (re: evening) a light box makes a huge difference. Friend of mine bought his for $60.

Here's Lara's portfolio:

(We just bumped into eachother. It turns out she photographed 6 cookbooks last year!)

Thanks for the links

Lara's portfolio sites are awesome. I have to admit, seeing these photos makes me feel like quitting and never touching a camera again! Yeah, it gives something to aim for (and drool at), but feels like I'll never get *there*.

In any case, I'll give myself a bit longer to experiment smileys/smile.gif

I am trying to find the best setup. I have a couple umbrellas and a couple flashes to play with. The kitchen is most definitely NOT the most suitable to take food photos though.

Anyway, thanks again for that smileys/smile.gif

You'll get there. You're already miles ahead by having Mimi work on your website...

(I'm so jealous!) If photos are the most significant uphill part of the battle, you're well on your way.
