C'mon everyone... my Saturday Six

I've got a noon appt for a Whooping Cough vaccine per you...

I'll add more later when I get back, but the dinner sounds fab. I haven't tried Insta Cart (not sure they are in the SBay) but Safeway is $3.99 delivered if you go with their "green" option of a 4 hr window. They pretty much were the reason I've been eating through most of this. Haven't tried the new G**gle delivery that started last week yet, but they didn't seem to have many item options even though they have several stores.

when I read "lots and lots of icing also helped, my first thought was, yes, send cupcakes with icing

so sorry to hear this, andmy goodness, we've had all sorts of swap friends with injuries this year

my broken arm was a result of slipping on stairs too. watch those pain meds and constipation---take stool softener or something else---it really can be very painful!!!!!

could you share the apple pie jam recipe? and I love chili sauce like that. my favorite ribs are

smothered with my Mom's chili sauce.

I just took 6 weeks of celebrex for an arthritic lump on my wrist. I received a sample of Voltaren

gel in the mail so decided to give it a whirl. Literally, within 3 hours, the lump had reduced to less than half of its size and what was left was quite spongy. The pharmacist is amazed that the celebrex did nothing (and it did in the past work for all the pains but only after 4 weeks). The celebrex did help the pain in the ankles and wrists but I'm not sure it's worth the risks.

I am very concerned about the problems with both drugs and am actually trying hard just to ignore it all. I think the hip pain is the worst though.

So glad you are getting a booster, remember to take an aspirin or something

because the tetanus portion (if you get the TDAP) will make your arm sore for a few days. Sorry about that!!!

I hope Instacart comes to your area, I like it because the shopper calls from the store and says - the bread you wanted isn't here today, would you like x, y or z instead?? That's really nice. But I agree the Safeway delivery is great. I was able to eat during The Great Ankle Era quite well!

Hope you're feeling okay. how's the healing coming along?

My weekend six

tried all weekend not to think about my job----government contract

Went to the Women's show, both Saturday and Sunday. treated myself to massage and new gold chain and even found a Christmas present for DH. retail therapy

also shopped clearance at Sears(I never get to that part of town but was there Sunday) for new smaller size shorts for DH and myself. yay. Hawaii is just 3 weeks away. I also bought some girls clothes to donate to the women's shelter. felt the need to be not so selfish.

didn't really cook/bake anything. just made some cauliflower/potato mash to go with the burgundy beef i made last week.

Did final yard cleanup before snow falls and sticks for good. the autumn colors are peak or just past this weekend.

Wine and a good chat with the across the street neighbors Sunday nite. caught up on our hectic summer shenanigans.

I see Voltaren has a topical end you apply to the area with very little side effect

(Compared to the meds by mouth, that is). Amazing it worked so fast! This sounds like a prescription product, but you got it by mail?!

This is one of the most interesting posts I have read here ;o) Mar and Maria, do not read this,

but I LOVED the taste of those wooden spoons. In fact I'd keep them in my mouth a little while after the ice cream was gone!

I interpreted that as her trying to be funny. Going for her own wine glass...why not go over the top

Crystal at a pig roast? Ha ha ha!

Well, I only got a flu shot...seems I'd already had the other

and they won't give me a booster till five yeas out.

Yeah, and I checked no Instacart yet. smileys/frown.gif I was excited when I heard about G because they go to WF, but they had very few items listed at any given store. Boo.

The mending is going slooooooooow. Really weak/wobbly without crutches, the dr/PT wants me to use a walker for a bit, but I'm not bothering to buy one. So I'm either cheating by wearing the removable cast on the broken side (always on the rare occasion I'm going out), or on crutches to make sure I don't fall. I've already rolled the ankle once and the dr said "see this means you must use the crutches."

Today seeing my GP for the first time she said, I must say I've never seen your ankle (the sprained side vs. in the cast) look less swollen than right now. I told her well, that's what 24/7 bed rest with elevated feet gets you.

One day I came home and leaned a crutch in the doorway on the porch and forgot it. The next day I remembered and found it there... I swear it looked like Tiny Tim lives here.

It's a gel. Available without presc'n. I think some drugs just have more effect on some people.

Of course, I went out and bought a huge tube of it right away. It even helps my hip to feel more comfortable, and that's surprising considering what it has to go through to get to the inflammation.
