Paris recommendations...

For Geeks Only!: My favorite museum is the Crypt Archeologie, or Archeological Excavation,

right outside Notre Dame. It's an archeological dig on the main island that exposes layers of the ciry's earliest history, from Roman homes to miedevil boat docks. You walk above the actual ruins, then see displays of artifacts that were found, and illustrations of what Paris was like in its earliest stages.

If you're with someone who forces you to climb the Notre Dame Cathedral Tower, it's a good way to get even.

Joe, I needed something like this 15 years ago when

Ed and his 12-year-old daughter decided we would climb the stairs in the Statue of Liberty up to the crown. The Crypt Archeologie sounds enthralling.

Arc de Triomphe

Joe, I feel the same way - I much prefer the view from the Arc de Triomphe, night or day. You feel more a part of the city from the top - the Eiffel Tower makes one feel more like looking down from a plane. cheers, Bonnie

We were there in late May and also early June

It's wonderful. I especially loved Monet's house with the lemon yellow dining room and blue kitchen.

Did you know they change the flowers there as they do at Disneyworld so that its always blooming?

Voila, the correct spelling. Thanks, I feel less nerdy knowing someone else loved it.

Definitely go to Carnavelet. Fascinating place. Loved the gruesome...

displays from the Revolution and Commune days. Plus the Palais is fabulous!

And it's always free.

After I left the museum to walk back to my room on the Il St. Louis, I walked through the Place des Vosges, and then proceeded through a maze of courtyards and covered archways and passages. It was one of the most amazing experiences on my trip.

But aren't you glad you did that Michael? It's now closed,

seemingly forever. So sad. I used to love making that climb. It was a great short escape out of Manhattan and the place was always empty on weekeday afternoons. sigh...

USAir but you had to leave on 5/13 or 5/14 and return 5/27 or 5/28

after the 14th the fare was over $1,000.
