I DO like it, and I think it would make a great headdress in theory. Probably a little risky

in reality. I will definitely consider it for the buffet. The wording of your post just struck my funny bone--like it was a dance or something.

I would have thought you couldn't put food directly into the sterno flame--good to know.

 
I actually have that cookbook with the Wienie "Crown Roast"

and made it once as a gag for a halloween-fall house party (except I used high quality bratts and metts from the butcher). Stuffed the middle with sauerkraut and set it out. People thought it was hilarious. Too funny.

I don't remember the name of the book, but it's either a Betty Crocker or Good Housekeeping "year in holidays" type of specialty book from the early 60's that I found at a garage sale years ago.
