It's not until June, but is it ever too early to obsess about a menu? Jacques will be turning 60 (!)

The glistening thing on the red pedestal looks like

congealed vomit chunks. unbelieveable someone would look at that photo and think "I want to make THAT for my next party!" without devious intention.

And I so remember the jello mosaic cake. They appeared briefly at family reunions around 1967-68.

 
Me three. It was the only way we could have it where we lived..

(nearest pizza place was probably about 70 miles away) unless, of course, "someone" decided he could do this from scratch much better than a $.79 box of pizza-in-a-box.

 
I promise pictures. And I just found out that we may have visitors from France for the occasion

Three of Jacques' high school friends want to surprise him by flying in, which means I have to prepare for house guests in secret while arranging all those skewers and toothpicks!

(I hope they fly in a few days early so we can get the surprise out of the way and put them to work.)

 
They have to come early - who wants to go to a party with jet lag?

Oh and I forgot to add pate to the list, if you are doing "smart cocktails".

However, if you're feeling groovy...you should rent a hookah!
